What To Do After You Land
Author: adminTraveling on a airplane can leave one feeling a bit woozy, sleepy and hungry!
I would recommend stretching a bit and gathering your bearings before you set out from the plane. Once you disembark, head for the luggage pick up designated for you your flight arrival. It normally takes about ten to 20 minutes or so for the luggage to arrive in the correct carousel.
If you haven’t arranged for the “land” transportation, so to speak, there are many choices for virtually any budget. To get to your hotel, check and see if there is perhaps complementary shuttle service to and from the airport. Is this new to you? Catch up here If so, call and request a pick up. If not, you can grab the airport shuttle service van that normally provide shuttle services to the area hotels. This could be less expensive than hiring a private car or taxi.
Once you arrive in your hotel, take a minute to relax and unpack perhaps. It’s always a good idea to familiarize yourself with the hotel and amenities offered. I like to use the in-room hotel book to do so as there is usually a full menu of restaurant offerings, activities and my favorite, spa offerings!
Now it’s time to hit the streets and explore! Have a pocket map or a smart phone to avoid getting lost in your new surroundings as this can be quite frightful, depending on where in the world you are! If unsure about what to do or where to go, ask the hotel staff as they usually have information on hand, both printed material and verbal recommendations on hand. You can find out the best places to eat, shop and how to see the local attractions that your destination offers.
If you want to see what the locals see and not necessarily what the tourists see, then ask a local outside of the hotel staff! Good questions to ask would be “what is your favorite cafe and why?” If you could plan a day of leisure in your town, what would you do?”
Relax and have fun!
