If it’s been a while since you’ve traveled, you may be surprised with changes to the checked baggage policy since you’re last plane ride. For the longest time we expected to be able to check at least one bag, usually two, for no additional charge. Now, most airlines charge you a fee even for just one checked bag. Be sure to check with your airline before your trip so you’ll know the baggage policy and won’t be caught off guard with unexpected fees. How to Pack Your Liquids

The terrorist attacks of 9/11 have completely altered the role and regulation of airport security. Perhaps one of the biggest changes that have come about is the strict rules regarding the transporting of personal liquid items. Though it has been changed and revised a number of times, the standard liquid item procedure has come to be known as the 3-1-1 rule. All liquid items being checked onto a flight must be in 3 oz. containers, or smaller. These containers must all be secured in a 1 quart-size zip top bag and each passenger is only allowed one of these bags. These rules only apply to carry-on luggage and other, larger liquids can be transported in checked luggage. In the last few years we’ve been introduced to explosive detection machines and puffer machines, which shoot out tiny bursts of air through many small jets.
