The once high-tech metal detectors used in airport security checkpoints now seem outdated and inefficient. In the last few years we’ve been introduced to explosive detection machines and puffer machines, which shoot out tiny bursts of air through many small jets. Now, in efforts to increase security even more since the attempted Christmas Day bombing last year, full body scanners are being deployed throughout the nation in many of the larger airports.
